IPL 2021 RR vs PBKS: The fourth match of IPL 2021 will be played today between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab at Chidambaram Stadium ….
New Delhi. The fourth match of IPL 2021 will be played between Rajasthan Royal and Punjab Kings today. KL Rahul will lead Punjab, while Sanju Samson will lead Rajasthan. Both teams will go into their first match with the intention of winning and all eyes will be on the big hitter. Rajasthan’s batting will be seen revolving around all-rounder Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler and newly appointed captain Sanju Samson.
Yashasvi-Butler can start the innings
Yashaswi Jaiswal and Jose Butler may look to start the innings for the Royals team. While captain Sanju Samson can land on first down. At the same time, Ben Stokes will strengthen the middle order. If they play in all four rhythms, then they will tear apart the front team. Wankhede’s pitch is also favorable for batting. The Royals have options in the form of all-rounders Shivam Dubey, Shreyas Gopal, Rahul Tewatia, Ryan Parag and Liam Livingstone.
RR can land with two spinners
The Rajasthan Royals team can take on two spinners Gopal, Teotia in today’s match. Both of them have the ability to play big shots and their selection in the playing XI is almost certain. In the absence of Jofra Archer due to injury, the Royals’ fast bowling attack will be led by Chris Morris, who the team bought at a player auction this year for a hefty sum of Rs 16 crore 25 lakh.
Strong opening pair of Rahul and Aggarwal
The Royals will have to focus on their combination as they play just four foreign players in the playing XI. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see whether Punjab will choose fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman or one of Jaydev Unadkat, Karthik Tyagi or Chetan Sakaria. Punjab, on the other hand, has aggressive batsmen like Rahul (670 runs in the 2020 season), Mayank Agarwal (424 runs in the 2020 season) and Chris Gayle. Rahul and Aggarwal formed a strong opening pair in 2020 and the pair is expected to remain intact.
Shami will take command of Punjab’s bowling
The team has good hitters like David Malan of England, M Shah Rukh Khan of Tamil Nadu and Nicholas Puran of West Indies. The team simply needs to keep their combination right. Shah Rukh may get preference over players like Deepak Hooda and Sarfaraz Khan and he can play the role of finisher in the team. The team’s bowling attack will be led by Mohammed Shami who performed brilliantly last season. The contract with Australia’s Zhai Richardson and Riley Meredith has strengthened the team’s pace bowling attack. The team also has Chris Jordan. However it remains to be seen who gets a chance to handle the new ball with Shami. In the spin department, the team has bowlers like Murugan Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi.
The two teams are as follows:
Rajasthan Royals: Sanju Samson (captain), Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Manan Vohra, Anuj Rawat, Ryan Parag, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Mahipal Lomror, Shreyas Gopal, Mayank Markandey, Andrew Tye, Jaydev Unadkat, Karthik Tyagi, Shivam Dubey , Chris Maurice, Mustafizur Rahman, Chetan Sakaria, Casey Cariappa, Liam Livingstone, Kuldeep Yadav and Akash Singh.
